Some are saying the coronavirus is part of a biowarfare project that's gotten out of control.
Could be.
It's been expected that future military conflicts may involve microbes more than missiles.
But whatever the origin of the coronavirus, we can be sure God has His own purpose in it.
As ruler over all, God is behind everything that happens.
Not a sparrow falls to the ground outside of His control (Mt.10:29).
And when calamity comes to a city, God's hand is in it (Amos 3:6).
We just don't know His purpose in it all.
Maybe the coronavirus is God's way of shaking up the nations...
...or judging China for its persecution of Christians...
... or just reminding the world of our dependence on Him.
I don't know.
But we can know for certain God is working out His purpose... for something good and even glorious.
And knowing this should keep us humble and faithful as He works through us.
"For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose" (Phil.2:13).
