"For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection" (Rom.6:5).
I just finished reading a new book called "J-Curve."
In it, author Paul Miller unpacks the biblical truth that faithful Christian living is dying and rising with Jesus.
And... he explains how a willingness to endure the sufferings God has for us while looking for His merciful resurrections is to be a normal part of our lives.
In other words...
As we experience the trials and joys that go with following the Son of God, we do so after the pattern of His own life... as He entered this world to die and rise again.
Seeing our lives in light of this pattern -- of constantly dying and rising -- brings the ultimate in meaning and hope to the ups and downs we experience every day.
And, following this J-Curve... as Miller calls it... also presents us with a challenge.
A challenge to die to ourselves daily so we would be raised up to the glorious purpose God has for each one of us.
