God's law isn't too popular these days.
Grace, yes. But law, not so much.
Even churches hesitate to bring up God's law... for fear of appearing old fashioned, legalistic or judgmental.
But consider this...
Without God's law, how would we see our need for saving grace?
And what restraint would there be on evil?
Or how would we know how to please the Lord?
God reveals His character... and His standards of righteousness... through His law.
Without it, we run blind to what it means to live a truly good life.
God's law will never save you. Only Jesus can do that.
But as Jesus brings us to Himself, He makes even His law gracious to our hearts.
And, we show forth the ways of His kingdom... as the law is fulfilled in our lives, by walking according to the Spirit (Rom.8:4).
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill" (Mt.5:17).
