We face some of our greatest threats when times are good.
Surprising, isn't it?
But it's when things are going well we tend to grow cold and feel less of a need for God.
This vulnerability goes all the way back to Adam.
Satan tempted Adam when life was perfect, presenting him with the idea he could be like God.
And because Adam had his guard down, he fell for the lie.
We should always give thanks when blessings abound.
But we should stay humble and keep our guard up, too... as we cultivate our little portion of God's world.
Our old adversary the devil constantly prowls about looking for someone to devour (1 Pet. 5:8).
