Our youngest son just turned eighteen this week.
While pondering where the years have gone, my mind somehow turned to all the things our boys have made over the years.
It started with their early years...
...like buildings made with toy blocks, lego castles and snow forts.
But then I recalled more recent productions...
... ranging from espresso and key lime pies... to electric violins and professional photographs... to corporate budgets and software... to custom-made tables and lamps... to music, and more music.
Upon recounting these creations, I couldn't help noticing again how God has wired us to make things.
We are 'fearfully and wonderfully made' (Ps.139:14)...
And this has to do not just with our magnificent anatomy and physiology... but how we're designed to create, after the likeness of God Himself.
Our creative abilities alone are a strong witness to God as Creator.
But they also speak of His purpose for us...
... that He has delegated to us the role of making things and filling the earth with them for His glory.
