What does living 'the good life' look like to you?
A knee-jerk response for a lot of folks might revolve around having: a life without struggle, one's favorite creature comforts and plenty of vacation time to enjoy them.
But how should we really answer the question?
Might it not be a good idea to get some insight from the Garden of Eden?
... Surely if the good life has been lived anywhere on earth, it's there!
So what was life like there?
From Genesis 2 we get the idea it was a land of beauty and abundance.
But that's not the main feature...
What stands out it is that God was there... and that Adam -- with the help of his wife -- was to rule and cultivate the garden WITH HIM (Gen.2:15).
The entrance of sin in the world -- in Genesis 3 -- marred this glorious design -- but it didn't do away with it.
God's purpose for us to rule and co-create with Him in this world remains.
And Jesus makes it possible for us to do this very thing today as He makes us alive in Him (1 Cor. 15:22).
So here's to you living the good life...
... as you take the time, talents and treasure God gives you and use them WITH HIM to advance His kingdom.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Ps.27:13).
