Ever mistrust your GPS?
Earlier in the week I was returning from a fruitful trip to Chicago and Michigan.
On the way to the airport to make the trip home my GPS began taking me on some unexpected twists and turns.
For the whole drive I should have been heading south, with some movement southeast.
But the GPS began taking me west -- and then north!
Trips to the airport can make anyone anxious over arriving on time.
But this change of course put me in a slight panic as I wondered: am I really on the right path?
As it turned out, the GPS was rerouting me around some construction and got me to the airport just fine.
Whew!
Getting along in life can be a lot like following a GPS... as you find yourself going in some very unexpected directions.
But God has made provision for you to stay on the course He has for you... no matter how many strange directions He takes you.
And if you base your life on His Word, stay constant in prayer, and depend on the Holy Spirit, you'll end up exactly where you ought to be to fulfill His purpose for you.
The key -- throughout the journey -- is to trust Him.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
God draws straight with crooked lines.
