I see the president issued a call at the United Nations yesterday to promote religious liberty across the world.
That's good news, and I hope it has a positive effect.
Respecting another's liberty of conscience is one of the most basic ways to love your neighbor.
It's also a safeguard against persecution.
And it expresses confidence that God's Word will effectively do its work and change lives as it's free to go forth.
Here in America we've been blessed with religious liberty like no other nation before us.
And that liberty has brought us an abundance of blessings.
But freedom only lasts if we use it... particularly by applying the light of His truth to our callings.
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty" (2 Cor.3:17).
