What C.S. Lewis said about the influence of technology

In his book 'The Abolition of Man' C.S. Lewis gives a sobering warning about the future...

... a future where society becomes so technologically advanced it presumes it's capable of doing away with any ultimate values and standards of right and wrong...

... and where those most technologically endowed control the masses for their own good.

In our own day... with our growing dependence on Big Tech... and the conveniences and devices we've come to rely on... Lewis's warning is worth heeding.

No matter how tech savvy we become, it will never make God obsolete.

We will always need Him.

And we'll always need His grace to live out what He lovingly intends for us.

So technology must always remain a servant, not a master.

And it must always be used as a tool in the work of doing good -- as God defines good -- as we develop the world for His glory.

Otherwise we'll become something far beneath what He's designed us to be...

We'll retain His image, but we'll become inhumane in our use of it...

And we'll miss our time to walk with Him in trust as He gives us grace to fulfill the callings He assigns to us.
