Ever felt like God was calling you to do something but you were inadequate for the job?
Maybe... as you saw it... you didn't have enough smarts or experience or gifts?
You're not alone.
When God called Moses, he objected by saying he was not eloquent.
The prophet Jeremiah responded similarly... arguing he was just a youth.
... And there was a time in Elijah's life when he felt so alone and discouraged he would have rather died than continue in God's calling.
Of course, the reality is that we're all incapable for the tasks God calls us to fulfill.
But inadequacy can never be an excuse for not answering His call.
Because our sufficiency comes from God -- not ourselves (2 Cor. 3:5).
And it is He who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure (Phil 2:13).
So feeling inadequate isn't a reason to ignore His call...
... it just reveals the need to lean into Him... and seek His grace, wisdom and power.
