Does your calling in life change?
I believe it does... especially as you consider the different seasons of life we experience.
When you're young, your calling tends to have a lot to do with preparation... such as establishing your character and acquiring certain skills.
In early adult life, one's calling typically revolves around family responsibilities... and includes raising children and providing for them.
In mid-life, the family responsibilities continue... but there's also the opportunity to bring your unique gifts and contribution to the world into focus.
And later in life, there's a variety of ways you may be called into service... as you continue to use your gifts to function as an adviser, caregiver, prayer warrior, benefactor, grandparent, etc.
Realizing your calling in life changes is important.
It allows you to find contentment and live life in the present without regrets.
It also frees you to immerse yourself in whatever God has called you to today.
And it allows you to wisely and joyfully draw on your experience from previous callings and use it for good in the here and now.
