It's often assumed you're forced to choose between living a moral life and advancing in the world.
But this isn't normally the case.
While it's true an unwillingness to make ethical shortcuts can be a career stopper in some situations, God's design is to bless those committed to love, faithfulness and obedience to His commands.
Proverbs tells us, for example, the norm is that those who keep His teaching close to heart would "find favor and good success in the sight of God and man" (Pr. 3:4).
So don't think you have to give up your character to make the most of your calling.
You don't.
Actually... character is the way to make the most of your calling.
From the very beginning there's been a direct connection between succeeding at subduing the earth and character.
And this connection makes sense.
Since God made us from the dust of the earth (Gen.2:7), it follows that subduing the world for Him would start with subduing ourselves.
And this is why character plays an essential role in whatever He calls us to do.
