A while back when visiting my parents I helped my mom clean her oven.
And I don't mean just wipe out the crumbs. I mean put it through that process where you turn the oven into a furnace to the point it emits toxic fumes.
After three hours of praying nothing would explode, the oven shut off... and when it was cool enough to peak inside, it looked great.
It looked so good that I would occasionally open the oven door and admire the gleaming interior during the rest of my visit.
Seems kind of odd, I know.
But I'm sure you've done the same kind of thing with a project of your own.
And God did something similar when he made the world.
When God made light, He saw the light was good.
When God separated the dry land from the sees, He saw it was good.
When the Lord caused the earth to spring forth all kinds of plants and vegetation and trees, He saw it was good.
When God made the sun, moon and stars... that too He saw was good.
When God created all kinds of birds, fish and beasts, He saw that it was good.
Even the things that creep on the ground God saw was good!
And finally, when God made man and woman in His image -- on top of all the rest of what He had made -- He declared it to be 'very good.'
So... when you take satisfaction in a job well done, you're living right in keeping with your Creator, and how He wired you.
I hope that inspires you to do a good and faithful job with whatever He's given you to do today.
