Here's an interesting connection I just noticed...
Immediately after His resurrection, Jesus was mistaken for a gardener (Jn. 20:15).
Hmmm... why a gardener?
Well, He must have been doing something gardeners do... like maybe working the ground or trimming some branches.
Seems a little odd at first.
But when you think about it, it makes perfect sense for Jesus to do such a thing...
... because He came as the second Adam.
Where the first Adam failed in the Garden of Eden, Jesus came to bring about a new creation and restore mankind to it's most basic calling found in the dominion mandate...
... and He portrays this beautifully as He presents Himself as a gardener after He was raised from the dead.
In Christ, God's call to rule and cultivate the earth remains.
May this encourage you as you work with the portion of His world He's assigned to you today.
