The great Swiss Reformer John Calvin once said:
"We must make the invisible kingdom visible in our midst."
That's a good thing to remember this time of year.
During Advent and Christmas we celebrate certain realities of the kingdom of God.
Realities such as:
- God has given us His Son as a gift to save us from our sins (2 Cor. 9:15; Mt.1:21)
- Jesus has come so the government would rest on His shoulders and He would establish an everlasting kingdom (Is.9:6-7)
- Through the Spirit we have been made His heirs with an everlasting hope (Titus 3:3-7)
These are great truths to treasure in our hearts.
But they aren't meant to be kept invisible there.
They're to be made visible in the way we live our lives.
