I'm in the book of Ecclesiastes for my morning Bible reading.
One of themes of the book is that there's a lot of goodness to be found in enjoying your work.
"There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and find that his labor is good"
(Ecc. 2:24).
If this is so, what can you do if you find your work unsatisfying?
The main thing is to see and believe that what you do is part of a larger narrative...
... that your labor goes beyond completing tasks and paying the bills... and includes playing your part in God's plan of redemption.... as you fulfill the role He's given you.
It involves seeing that your efforts contribute to moving God's kingdom forward... even in the smallest of ways... through how you're occupying yourself today.
Now if you find this to be impossible in your current circumstances, it may be a sign it's time to make a change and occupy yourself some other way.
But before you do that, make sure you bring to bear all the faith you can in the situation you're in now.
You might be surprised how God opens your eyes to see the place He has you is better than you thought.
