Recently I became
acquainted with a woman whose husband died right after they signed papers on a new home in a new community.
This left her not only with the pain of her loss, but also the uncertainty about what she should do with herself all alone in an unfamiliar town.
Fortunately, the Lord brought people in her life to help her.
And He gave her direction too.
As she saw how people rallied around her during her time of need, she wanted to do the same for others...
So she took her interest in flowers and started a flower shop, and now she's helped hundreds work through their own pain by way of her 'flower ministry.'
What God did in this woman's life is wonderful... but not unusual.
In fact, it's His design to comfort us in our affliction so we would then be a comfort to others (2 Cor. 1:3-4)...
... and He can do that for any of
us.
Which is a good thing...
Because we all have pain of some sort in our lives...
But too often that pain causes us to shut down, isolate, and maybe get addicted to some
destructive escape.
Yet with God's help, we can turn our pain into something good to bring to others...
... and maybe even experience a brand new calling.
If you're in pain today, ask God
how you can use it for good.
And respond in faith to what He shows you.
Doing so will bring a whole new purpose to your life!
