Soon after God
commissioned Adam to cultivate and keep the garden, Satan sought to destroy it all with his lies.
He got Adam questioning whether God was really good... and whether there would be any consequences to disobeying Him.
... This led Adam to act on his own understanding... and the rest, as they say, is history.
The good news is that
immediately after Adam fell for Satan's lies, God set in motion a plan to redeem all of creation from its ruin.
This process of recovery is what most of the Bible is about... and the death and resurrection of Christ has made certain that this restoration project will succeed.
... Yet for now we must continue to contend with the deceiver's falsehoods that come our way every
day.
Which means you need to keep cultivating the little part of the world God has entrusted to you by faith.
And you have to stay on guard against the lies that would cause you to question the goodness of God and think what you do with your life doesn't matter.
