When I launched Made for Dominion, several close friends encouraged me to choose a different name.
They worried the word dominion
sounded domineering.
I understood their concern.
But their reaction confirmed something I had already suspected:
We've forgotten what the Bible means by dominion, and we need to recover it.
Most people hear the word and think of power, control, or oppression.
Scripture presents a different picture.
In the beginning, God gave Adam a garden to cultivate and keep...
Because dominion was about faithfully stewarding what God had entrusted to him.
That's still what biblical dominion looks like today.
It means cultivating instead of consuming.
Building instead of tearing down.
Protecting instead of exploiting.
Ruling under God's authority, not replacing it.
That leads all of us to consider: What has God already entrusted to your care?
Your marriage?
Your children?
Your work?
Your health?
Your finances?
Your home?
Your church?
Faithful dominion doesn't begin when God gives you more responsibility.
It begins when you're faithful with what He's already given you.
There's nothing wrong with the word dominion. The problem is we've forgotten what God means by it.
Today, identify one domain of your life you've been neglecting.
Then take a concrete step to cultivate it.
