The Lesson Most Men Were Never Taught
One of the biggest problems we face is:
Most men were never taught how to think about their lives.
Not biblically, structurally, or even practically.
Many of us were told to work hard, be responsible, and try to be good men.
But very few were ever given a clear framework for understanding what our lives are actually for.
So we improvise.
We chase success. Manage responsibilities. Pursue comfort.
And hope something will eventually feel
meaningful.
But Scripture gives us something far better.
From the very first chapter of the Bible, God lays out a simple framework for understanding a man’s
life:
Identity → Responsibility → Dominion
It begins with identity.
Before a man does anything, he is created in the image of God.
From that identity flows purpose and responsibility.
God gives man work to do, people to serve, and a world to cultivate.
And as a man embraces those responsibilities faithfully, something remarkable happens—his life produces fruit.
His influence grows. His work matters.
In other words, dominion.
This structure
runs through the whole Bible, but it starts right at the beginning.
Genesis 1 isn’t just about where we came from.
It’s about why we’re here.
And when a man recovers that framework, everything begins to make sense.
