The urgent need for discipleship among men
A friend sent me an article outlining the top needs Christian leaders must address today.
One need stood out above the
rest:
Discipleship.
Not just church involvement.
Or more Christian
information.
But real, intentional, spiritual formation.
This need is especially urgent among men.
Because when men are
not discipled, everything downstream suffers:
-Families weaken
-Churches lose their light
-Communities fracture
-Nations decay
Jesus made discipleship central to our existence and mission.
After His resurrection and before His ascension, He gave what we know as the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20).
His command was clear: make disciples.
Discipleship is not merely believing in Jesus.
And it’s not simply growing in knowledge of the Bible or doctrine.
Discipleship is becoming a new and different kind of person.
A man who acknowledges Jesus as Lord over every area of life.
And one who experiences not only internal change, but pursues faithful external application — in his home, his work, his relationships, and his community.
According to Jesus’ command, this transformation is meant to be so thorough and far-reaching that nations are shaped by obedience to Him.
But this kind of formation doesn’t happen overnight.
It is shaped through steady, intentional, everyday faithfulness.
Answering that call is at the heart of what Made for Dominion does.
We are helping men day by day to:
• Recover their God-given identity and purpose
• Live faithfully in covenant with God
• Cultivate and keep their domains in ways that
glorify Him and advance His kingdom
And we do this in brotherhood — drawing men out of isolation and into meaningful connection… where they are sharpened in character, wisdom, courage, and perseverance.
We can all see evidence of moral and spiritual collapse around us.
It can feel demoralizing. And give us a defeatist outlook.
But
Jesus has a plan.
His plan is to build people who are obedient to Him — and who apply His truth across all of life in pursuit of His kingdom.
That’s the work we’re
engaged in, day by day and week by week.
And I’m constantly encouraged by the transformation unfolding in men’s lives — something I saw firsthand several times just this past week.
To continue and expand this work, we could use your help.
Would you pray for us? Asking God to lead us, strengthen us, and increase our reach and impact among men?
And if you share our conviction about the urgent need to disciple men in this generation, would you consider joining us as a monthly ministry partner?
It’s widely acknowledged that men are one of the most underserved groups in ministry and discipleship.
We are committed to changing that.
We are doing the work. We are seeing impact. And we are praying that impact would grow.
Join us in the effort.
