Following Christ is more than obedience
When Jesus says, “Follow Me,” most of us hear it as a call to direction, sacrifice, or commitment.
But Jesus didn’t just follow a path—He had a mission.
He went to the cross, purchased redemption, and reclaimed lordship over the world.
Every step was about bringing forth the Kingdom of God.
Following Christ is the same for us.
It’s not just obedience—it’s participation in a mission bigger than yourself.
Here’s the angle to remember:
God has given you your own mission.
The general mission is clear... advance the kingdom and make disciples.
But there’s also a particular
mission only you can complete, shaped by your gifts, opportunities, and circumstances.
So ask yourself:
What does following Christ look like within your
mission?
How can your daily choices, your relationships, your work, your influence, serve that purpose?
When you hear “Follow Me,” don't just think
obedience.
Think of the effect of your life.
Think your unique role in His story.
Follow Him. Own your mission. Change the world.
