You Can Have Better Judgment
Every man is expected to decide, but few are taught how to judge.
Every day men feel pressure to chart a course—at work, in their homes, and in leadership.
Decisions are expected. and hesitation is penalized.
Yet many men feel the same frustration: I’m responsible to decide, but I’m not equipped.
Scripture has a word for what’s missing: wisdom.
From the beginning, God expected men to exercise judgment.
Adam was put in a garden filled with provision and given a command.
He was to rule fruitfully while remaining obedient.
Thinking God’s thoughts after Him.
Applying God’s Word to real decisions in real space.
When Adam failed to obey, his judgment failed—and his dominion with it.
That pattern still holds.
Good judgment does not begin with more information, sharper instincts, or higher confidence.
It begins with a settled foundation: believing that God’s Word is reliable, binding, and sufficient.
Men who try to lead apart from that foundation may act decisively, but they will lack good judgment.
The good news? Judgment can be trained.
Here’s how to begin immediately:
-Re-establish obedience in one clear area of life. Boundaries train judgment.
-Stop demanding certainty before acting. You are a creature, not the Creator.
-Consciously order your work, leadership, and stewardship under God’s Word.
-Ask God for wisdom—and expect Him to give it.
Men were never meant to decide alone.
Better judgment is forged through faithful obedience.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have good understanding” (Ps. 111:10).
