The Overlooked Power of Encouragement
Here is one simple way to increase the value you bring to others.
...Yes, we all have
inherent value as God’s image-bearers.
But part of the dominion mandate is cultivating and bringing value to the world around us.
And one of the easiest—and most
overlooked—ways to do that is through encouragement.
The world has no shortage of critics, cynics, and analysts.
But there are never enough encouragers.
A timely word can change the trajectory of someone’s entire day. Sometimes even their life.
Scripture repeatedly highlights the power of encouragement.
Barnabas was so known for it that he was called a “son of encouragement.”
And God still uses encouragement--from one person to another--so gifts are deployed and His purpose
fulfilled.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Encouragement
strengthens people. It builds relationships. It stirs people toward faithfulness and good works.
And the beautiful thing is this:
Anyone can do it.
It doesn't require money, status, or a special gift.
Just enough humility to think less about yourself and more about others.
Look for opportunities today to strengthen someone with your words.
A text. A compliment. A sincere observation. A reminder of God’s faithfulness.
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
— Proverbs 12:25
