You weren’t called to stay small
There are many men who want to be faithful but they feel stuck.
They’ve been taught that following God mostly looks like: praying, reading, and avoiding sin.
So their faith is mainly inward.
Careful, quiet, and inactive.
And over time, it starts to wear on them.
Because deep down, they know they were made for more.
And here’s the problem:
They’ve confused faithfulness with withdrawal.
Because they’ve received a version of Christianity that majors on devotion… but has no category for building, leading, or taking responsibility in the world.
So when they feel the desire to grow, achieve, or take ground, they wonder:
“Is this worldly?”
Let’s be clear:
It’s not worldly to build or achieve.
What’s worldly is building or achieving without God.
God has never intended us to
retreat.
From the beginning, His call has been:
-Be fruitful
-Multiply
-Fill the
earth
-Subdue it
-Cultivate it
-And keep it
There’s nothing wrong with this, because it’s stewardship.
So here’s the plan:
-Stay rooted in God (never outgrow dependence on Him).
-Take
responsibility for what’s in front of you (your work, your family, your sphere).
-Build something that reflects His order and goodness (with a vision for His kingdom)
All for His glory. And under His authority.
What we’re really talking about is becoming faithful in the fullest sense of the word.
The life God
has for you is about more than a privatized devotional experience.
It’s about becoming a distributor of God’s truth and goodness in your world.
This does not make you
less spiritual.
It makes you faithful and fruitful according to God’s design.
And to the man who lives this, Jesus will say:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
