The Man Who Stayed
Aaron wasn’t exceptional.
He didn’t have an impressive title or a platform.
Just a steady job, a routine life, and a habit of paying attention.
One evening he noticed a younger guy—Luke—still sitting at his desk long after everyone had left. Quiet. Shoulders slumped.
Aaron almost kept walking.
He was tired. Dinner was waiting. And it wasn’t his problem.
But something in him said,
Wait.
So he did.
“Are you alright?”
That question opened the door.
Luke’s life was unraveling. Pressure at home, bad decisions stacking up, nowhere to turn.
Aaron
listened. And he stayed attentive in the days ahead.
A coffee. A check-in. An invitation to church.
A steady presence.
No one else noticed. But it mattered.
Over time, things began to shift.
Luke started making different choices. Taking responsibility, and turning toward God.
Years later he would say, “I don’t know where I’d be if you hadn’t stopped that night.”
Aaron never made headlines.
But his initiative and friendship changed a life.
We often think about the big ways we want to make a
difference.
But real impact usually comes another way...
By paying attention, and taking a small step when it counts.
Don’t miss the opportunities God is giving you to take initiative in your world today.
Your faithfulness can change lives.
“Whoever is faithful in little is also faithful in much…” (Lk. 16:10).
