Not My Way, His Way
Our world needs covenant men.
Today’s culture has discipled men with a simple message:
Live life your way. On your own terms.
It’s the spirit
behind the old song, ‘My Way.’
Living with intention is good. But it’s not enough.
Because when a man lives by his own terms, he becomes untethered from God’s
design.
And the result is loss, both personal and cultural.
We're seeing that all around us.
So our moment requires something more.
Men who live not “my way,” but His way.
Men who live on God’s terms—what Scripture calls covenant men.
So what is a covenant man?
A covenant man is
aware of—and responsive to—how God relates to His people.
He’s a man under orders…
Walking with God to shape the world.
You can spot a covenant man by the way he:
- Recognizes God’s rule—he knows he doesn’t set the terms.
- Comes under His
authority—as one called to represent Him.
- Walks in obedience—trusting God’s Word over his own understanding.
- Accepts responsibility—knowing his choices carry consequences.
- Builds for legacy—as he
thinks beyond himself into the future.
This covenant orientation is what directed men like Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David.
And it is fulfilled perfectly in Jesus Christ.
This is what gives a man clarity, direction, and strength.
And it’s what our times demand.
The world will call you to live on your terms. And that call is seductive.
But God calls you higher.
Because the impact of your life
will be greatest when you live as a faithful covenant man.
Give God His due. Give the world what it needs.
Walk with God in your generation.
“You shall be My people, and I will be your God” (Jer. 30:22).
