Living musically
Music isn’t just background noise—it’s one of the oldest languages of dominion.
Before a sermon was ever preached, Jubal crafted instruments.
Before Israel marched into battle, a choir sang.
And before David ruled a nation, he played the harp and wrote psalms.
Music orders chaos.
It takes raw sound and shapes it into
harmony.
And that’s what men are made to do—to take what’s unformed and bring it into sync with God’s purposes.
But too often, our hearts are out of tune.
The noise of the world fills our ears, and we forget how to make melody to the Lord.
We consume music, but rarely create it.
And we let playlists set our atmosphere instead of participating musically ourselves.
You don’t need to be a musician to recover this.
Sing in your car. Hum when you work. Fill your home with songs that lift up your heart.
Learn to live musically.
This may involve playing an instrument. It may not.
But either way, find your place in the harmony of God's world and bring rhythm into your days,
By joining the Creator’s song you fulfill His calling for your life.
So don't just be a consumer of music.
Learn how to use it to inspire, wage
warfare, and advance God's kingdom.
“Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things” (Psalm 98:1).
