God still calls men to sail beyond the map
When it comes to Christopher Columbus, it's crucial to note His voyage was more than economic or exploratory—it was
spiritual.
He believed the Holy Spirit had “kindled in him the desire” to cross the ocean, not for gold or fame, but for the glory of God.
In his Book of
Prophecies, he saw his mission through the lens of Isaiah’s words:
“Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth” (Isa. 65:17).
He sensed God was doing
something new—and he wanted to be part of it.
Before Columbus had ships or royal favor, he had conviction.
And that’s where every dominion man’s journey
begins:
With a call from God that's bigger than what he has, but made for who he is.
That conviction fueled his vision and perseverance.
He was mocked, delayed, and resisted.
Yet with a faith that doesn’t wait for ideal conditions, he obeyed.
Columbus trusted God to direct the plans, winds, and outcomes.
His courage wasn't rooted in self-confidence, but in divine providence.
Like Columbus, every man faces “uncharted waters”—unknown paths, new callings, and greater responsibilities.
The question is how we’ll respond to them—by fear or by faith.
So raise your sails and trust His promises.
Follow the wind of His Spirit.
He's still leading men willing to venture beyond the map and extend His kingdom in their generation.
