Passivity vs. Initiative
One of the biggest traps for men today is passivity.
We wait. We hesitate. We hope someone else will step up.
But from the very beginning, God designed men to act.
Scripture shows this clearly:
-We’re made in the image of God—who is not passive.
He creates, speaks, and initiates.
-Adam was placed in the garden to “work and keep it” (Gen. 2:15).
That’s active responsibility.
When he failed to engage, sin entered and tainted everything.
– Christ, the true Man, took initiative.
“No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord” (Jn. 10:18).
He didn’t wait to be asked.
He led with sacrificial love.
The pattern is consistent: Men are called to go first.
To protect, provide, lead, and bless.
To be diligent instead of sluggish.
To take
courage when others shrink back.
This doesn’t mean rushing ahead thoughtlessly or in arrogance.
It means trusting God enough to act, even when it’s costly.
And it all begins
with prayer, asking Him to lead you wisely.
Don’t wait for perfect conditions, or for someone else to come to the rescue.
By His Spirit, go where God is leading.
The world
needs men who take initiative in faith.
