Who Really Rules Your Life?
Men are pulled in so many directions.
Work, family, finances, church, health, politics—they all claim urgency.
It feels like constant distraction.
But the
deeper issue is divided allegiance.
Jesus said it plainly:
“No one can serve two masters” (Mt. 6:24).
Most men aren’t unfocused because they don’t care.
They’re unfocused because they’re trying to serve too many masters.
Yet everything changes when a man settles one question:
Who is my King?
Scripture leaves little room for negotiation:
“By Him all things were created… all things were created through Him and for Him… that in everything He might be preeminent” (Col. 1:16–18).
Christ is not merely a personal Savior.
He is the rightful King over all things—seen and unseen.
When allegiance to Christ is clear, life gets simpler.
Not because responsibilities disappear—but because they fall into order.
-Work becomes
stewardship.
-Family leadership becomes purposeful, not reactive.
-The body becomes something to discipline, not indulge.
-The soul becomes something to guard, not neglect.
-Even culture and politics are approached as responsibilities—not identities.
To state it plainly:
Allegiance to Christ doesn’t reduce your life. It organizes it.
With Jesus as King, every domain has its place. Every decision has a reference point. Every action has meaning.
So if you’re serious about living less distracted and more focused, settle the question of allegiance.
Look to Christ as Lord over all.
And make it a habit to ask:
“What does my King want me to do with what I’m facing today?”
