Men Are Searching for Purpose
Over the past year, there’s been a noticeable shift.
More attention is finally being given to the crisis facing young men—and that’s long overdue.
Even secular authors are now acknowledging that many young men are struggling with direction, confidence, and purpose.
One encouraging theme I keep seeing is this:
Every man needs to be established in his identity and purpose.
That’s true. But here’s the problem.
What’s often missing is where a man’s identity and purpose actually come from.
And without that foundation, the search can become frustrating, confusing, or endless.
The good news is that this isn’t a mystery.
God has already revealed the answer.
From the very beginning of Scripture, we’re told exactly who man is and what he’s here to do.
In Genesis
1:26–28, God tells us He made man in His image—to rule and bear fruit with Him.
That means a man’s identity isn’t something he invents...
And his purpose isn’t
something he has to stumble into.
Both are grounded in creation itself—rooted in who God made us to be and what He entrusted us to do.
The growing concern for the state
of young men is heartening.
But if men are going to address the deepest issues of their lives—direction, responsibility, confidence, and meaning—they must be grounded in God’s design for them.
And God made that design plain from the very beginning.
If you're looking for clarity in your identity and purpose, don't look inward—look to the One who made you.
