Resisting the Totalitarian Impulse
Something major is happening in the world right now—even if many can’t quite name it.
Across different systems, the same old impulse is emerging: the desire for total control.
Humanistic globalism tries to regulate speech, money, health, education, and morality—without God.
Islam, by its own structure, unites religion, law, and government under a single sacred order, aiming for a worldwide caliphate.
Different systems, same drive: a totalitarian
impulse—pushing for one authority to control everything.
The root of this impulse is clear... it goes back to the Fall.
When people reject God’s rule, they don’t become
free—they look for another god.
And when fallen men are given unchecked authority, they always press toward total control.
God’s plan is different.
He rules the world through His people, not over them as tyrants.
Human authority is real—but it’s delegated, limited, and accountable.
Fathers, churches, and the state all have boundaries.
True freedom doesn’t come from no authority—it comes from authority rightly ordered under Christ.
Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”
Because He rules over all, no human ruler, state, or religious system ever may.
In a world of growing totalitarian threats, it’s more important than ever to look to Christ—not just as Savior, but as Lord of all.
Any other vision crushes men.
Christ’s rule restores them, and blesses the world through them.
