The power of plodding
Faithfulness rarely feels exciting.
It’s more like plodding—doing the next right thing day after day when the results seem slow to come.
But throughout Scripture, we see that’s exactly how God shapes great men.
–Moses spent forty years tending sheep before leading Israel.
–Joseph endured betrayal, slavery, and prison for over a
decade before ruling in Egypt.
–David waited years to take the throne he was already anointed for.
–Noah built an ark for nearly a hundred years.
–Abraham waited twenty-five for his promised son.
–Daniel served faithfully under shifting pagan kings for seventy.
–Jeremiah preached for decades with little visible fruit.
-And Simeon and Anna waited their whole lives to see the Messiah.
Each of them shows us something vital:
God’s work unfolds over time, and faithfulness in the slow seasons is never wasted.
You might not see the results of your obedience right now—at home, at work, or in your community.
But as you keep trusting, praying, and showing up, God is forming strength, humility, and wisdom in you that can’t be built any other way.
Plodding isn’t failure. It’s faith in motion.
So keep trusting that God sees—and in His perfect timing, He’ll bring forth fruit that lasts.
“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Gal. 6:9 NKJV).
