When comfort becomes a curse
Comfort can be a quiet enemy.
It whispers, “You’re fine where you are.”
It offers predictability, ease, and control—but it rarely produces purpose.
I’ve seen this in my own life.
Every time God has called me into something new, it’s required me to leave what was familiar.
The old routines.
The safe places. The things I could manage on my own.
It was true for Abraham too.
God said, “Go from your country, your people, and your father’s household to the land
I will show you.”
That was a call out of comfort.
And with this call, Abraham didn’t get a map. But he got a promise. And he obeyed.
That’s the pattern for us as well.
God’s call often begins with disruption.
As He moves us out of ease and into obedience.
Because His Kingdom advances through men who trust Him enough to move forward rather than rest in comfort.
So here’s the question:
Have you gotten too comfortable?
Might God be calling you to take a step of faith, even when it feels risky
or uncertain?
Don’t let comfort become a curse.
Follow Christ wherever He leads.
What feels uncomfortable today may be just the spot where He brings growth--both in you and for His kingdom.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Cor. 5:7).
