Living by Faith Isn’t Abstract
Christians are familiar with the call to “live by faith.”
But what does that actually mean?
Too often we take it as vague or mystical—a quiet feeling of spirituality or hope.
But in Scripture, living by faith is concrete.
It’s about trust, loyalty, and allegiance to the Lord as King.
So faith is not merely
passive belief.
It works itself out in active obedience.
When God called Abraham to leave his homeland, he didn’t just agree that God existed—he obeyed.
He trusted God’s word enough to rearrange his entire life around it.
That’s faith.
The apostles showed the same thing.
When ordered to stop speaking in Jesus’ name, they replied, “We must obey God rather than men.”
Their
loyalty to the risen King outweighed fear, comfort, and human approval.
Living by faith means bringing every part of life under Christ’s rightful rule—our work, money, decisions, relationships, and ambitions.
Jesus is not just a personal Savior who rescues us from sin.
He is the cosmic Ruler who reigns over heaven and earth.
And to
live by faith is to govern all of life under Him as King—
trusting His promises, obeying His commands, and staying loyal when tested.
Making the shift from abstract belief to ongoing allegiance is what genuine faith looks like.
So get clear on what faithfulness to Christ means for you today.
It’s how we participate in His reign in everyday life.
