Work your claim
In the gold rush days, a miner couldn’t just point to a plot of land and say, “That’s mine.”
He had to work the claim.
The legal right came only after there was evidence of labor—dirt moved, ore extracted, something changed.
In other words, a claim wasn’t secured by intention. It was secured by action.
That’s not just how mining worked.
That’s how dominion works.
God gives each of us territory—gifts, opportunities, responsibilities—and expects us to work it, guard it, and expand it.
You can’t just name it as yours. You must develop it.
That’s how you prove your claim.
Take time to consider:
What territory has God placed under your care?
And what would it look like to work it?
Maybe it’s…
… a business idea you’ve sat on.
… a relationship you’ve neglected.
… a gift you’ve buried instead of developed.
Remember: a changed environment is the proof of stewardship.
If God has given you something, He intends for you to get your hands dirty.
