Trusting God’s Goodness
Have you noticed the tactic the devil used to get Adam and Eve to stray?
He got them to question God’s goodness (Gen. 3:4–5).
He uses the same trick on us.
When we’re in tough circumstances, our adversary whispers doubts about whether God is really good and doing what's best...
And tempts us to take matters into our own hands.
Let’s be alert to his schemes.
God’s goodness toward us is not situational.
It’s fundamental to His character.
We must remember that—especially when times are hard and our faith is tested.
We may not always perceive His goodness in the moment...
Because He uses trials to lovingly train and discipline us.
Remembering this keeps us on the Way.
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly" (Ps. 84:11).
Our greatest assurance, of course, is this:
God did not leave us in our straying.
He sent His Son to redeem us and show us the way.
"He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?" (Rom. 8:32)
So when you’re tempted to doubt His goodness—
Keep trusting.
Don’t stray.
Stay the course He sets before you.
