God's emerging kingdom
Most Americans think we live in a democracy.
Those who know our founding understand we actually live in a republic.
But the truth goes deeper still—We live in God’s emerging kingdom.
From the very beginning, God’s plan was to establish His kingdom on earth (Gen. 1:28).
He gave mankind dominion—not to rule apart from Him, but with Him.
Sin disrupted that order.
Instead of seeking God’s ways, man built his own systems, apart from God’s rule.
Jesus came to restore what was
lost.
Not just to save souls, but to bring back the kingdom.
So early in His ministry He preached, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Mt. 4:17).
Through the gospel, that kingdom is advancing—transforming hearts, choices, homes, churches, and nations.
This is why we pray,
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Mt. 6:10).
It’s why we’re told to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Mt. 6:33).
So while we care about government, laws, and elections, we must never forget—we are citizens of a greater kingdom.
Our allegiance is to the King of kings.
And His kingdom serves as our reference point for our activity in this world.
Let this shape your heart.
And live today as an instrument of His reign.
By the Spirit’s power, fulfill your part in making His invisible kingdom visible.
