The foundation for all God calls you to do
From the beginning, God made you for a purpose:
“Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it…” (Gen. 1:28).
That’s the dominion mandate.
You were created to reflect God’s image and extend His rule in the world.
But here’s the key:
You can’t fulfill that calling apart from love for God.
Scripture gives us what’s known as the Shema:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” (Dt. 6:5; Mk. 12:30).
This love isn’t a feeling—it’s allegiance to Him.
It’s giving God your desires (heart), your life (soul), your thoughts (mind), and your energy (strength).
Love is what makes your dominion efforts faithful and fruitful.
Without love, ruling turns into pride, control, or compromise.
But with it, dominion becomes service, stewardship, and legacy.
So
don’t just ask, “What am I called to do?”
Ask, “Am I doing it out of love for God?”
That’s the foundation. And everything else flows from it.
