Real men resist evil
From the very beginning, God charged man to “cultivate and keep” the garden (Gen. 2:15).
That word “keep” is about more than maintenance—it means to guard, protect, and resist what doesn’t belong.
This was Adam’s failure.
When the serpent crept in, Adam stayed silent.
He didn’t resist.
He listened to
evil, let deception reign, and gave up his dominion.
Men still do the same today.
We’re called to resist—to guard our hearts, our homes, our callings, and our
communities.
But too often we retreat. We avoid confrontation. We justify compromise.
And we even spiritualize our surrender.
As R.J. Rushdoony observed:
“It is amazing how many people there are who actually believe they are holier and purer because they have surrendered one area after another to Christ’s enemies.”
Let that sink in.
Retreat is not righteousness.
Avoiding the battle is not holiness.
When we refuse to resist, we hand over what God has called us to guard.
But in Christ, we’re
not powerless—and we’re not alone.
Resisting evil is not optional. It’s fundamental to manhood.
It’s how we walk in Christ’s image—our Warrior-King who crushed the
serpent and overcame evil with good.
Through Him, we don’t fight in our own strength.
We stand in grace, by the Spirit, wielding truth--with prayer and love as weapons
of light.
So don’t give the enemy any more ground.
Push back. Guard what God gave you.
Be the man who stands—firm, faithful, and fearless.
