Why pets are good for kids
Lately, more of my friends seem to be getting dogs.
Most of them have young families.
I think it's a great idea.
Pets are good for kids.
Adam's first recorded task in the Bible was naming the animals (Gen. 2:19-20).
Classifying them was part of his dominion mandate...
And it fit within his broader calling to tend the garden.
Like Adam, we're all called to understand, organize, and lead--whether in our work, family, or personal life.
Having a pet as a child is an ideal way to start learning this.
It trains kids to bring order with care and responsibility.
So if you have kids around and they’ve been asking for a dog, consider how it might be good for them.
Helping a child learn to care for a pet is a small but meaningful step in raising a future leader.
