Men Need Friends

In my years of working with men, here's something I've noticed:

Men who thrive have friends.

Loners just don’t develop like men with friendships do.

But here's the thing—men, in general, don’t tend to seek out friendships.

Yet they value the ones that form through a shared mission.

If you lack friends, here's an idea:

Pursue a common interest with other men—and friendships will follow.

The shared purpose can be almost anything:

– Hobbies, music, sports
– Community concerns, politics
– Cleaning up, repairing, or building something

The project itself isn’t what makes the difference.

By engaging in a common purpose, men naturally build each other up—practicing what the Bible calls ‘one anothering.’

Through this process, men become better equipped to function across all areas of life.

And that benefits everyone—families, churches, communities.

So, here’s the takeaway:

If you’ve been going it alone, recognize your need for friends.

Take a step to connect with others around a shared interest.
