The Mandates of God: No permission Needed
We hear a lot about politicians claiming a mandate.
But as believers, we have a mandate from the highest authority—God Himself.
It started in Genesis when He commanded us to fill the earth and subdue it.
But our marching orders don’t stop there.
Here are seven clear mandates God has given us:
1- The Creation Mandate: Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it (Gen. 1:28).
God calls us to build, cultivate, and govern wisely.
2- The Greatest Commandments: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind—and love your neighbor as yourself (Mt. 22:37-39).
Everything else hinges on this.
3- The Great Commission: Go and make disciples (Mt. 28:19-20).
Faith isn’t just personal; it’s meant to spread.
4- The Cultural Mandate: Seek the welfare of the place where God has put you (Jer. 29:7).
We’re called to bless and influence the world around us.
5- The Leadership Mandate: Lead well in whatever God has entrusted to you—your home, work, church, and community (1 Timothy 3:4-5, Proverbs 12:24).
Leadership isn’t about status;
it’s about responsibility.
6- The Mandate for Justice and Mercy: Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).
We don’t just talk about righteousness, we live it.
7- The Call to Holiness: Be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16).
Set apart. Distinct. Unshaken by the world.
We don’t have to wonder if God wants us to do these things.
We don’t need to wait for
permission.
He’s already spoken.
The only question is—will we follow?
