When Plans Fail, Follow the Spirit

Men are often frustrated when things aren't working out.

Their typical response? Bear down and work harder.

But often this just leads to the same results—and more frustration.

So what’s a man to do in such a place?

Live in sync with the Spirit.

The Bible is clear...

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing" (Jn. 6:33).

Consider this:

- It was the Spirit who hovered over the waters and brought creation into existence.

- The Spirit led God's people through the wilderness to the Promised Land.

- And the Holy Spirit conceived Jesus—without a human father.

Notice the pattern?

God accomplishes His purposes by His Spirit.

Yes, He uses our efforts as part of His work.

But ultimately, it's the Spirit who fulfills His will—which may involve disrupting our plans.

So, if you're frustated that things aren't working out...

Don't despair.

Pause.

Look around.

And pray for understanding.

Ask:

What is the Spirit doing?

Then, step in sync with Him—and keep walking that way every day.

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts' (Zech. 4:6).
