Renewal not Retreat

Jesus tells us He sends us out as "sheep in the midst of wolves," so we must be "wise as serpents and innocent as doves" (Mt. 10:16).

What vital instruction as we pursue our God-given callings!

Too often we enter situations without enough caution, thought and prayer--and we suffer for it!

When this happens, the temptation is to retreat, sideline ourselves, and drown in self-reproach.

But don't forget...

God is always renewing.

And this ought to inspire us to press on...

... expecting His help as we faithfully seek His grace and wisdom in every new opportunity.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lam. 3:22-23).
