Remedy for burnout, going through the motions

Fulfilling all God calls you to is a long-term endeavor.

It requires endurance.

And without resources outside of yourself, you will eventually run out of steam...

As you face a gap between your commitments and your ability to fulfill them.

When this happens, it may show itself in...

- No longer caring

- Wanting to escape

- Giving way to temptations

- Feeling bitter, irritable, resentful

- And faking love

Pushing through doesn't work.

It only makes the heart colder and harder.

More sleep, better eating, exercise etc... may be part of the remedy.

So might a vacation.

But the real issue runs deeper.

And involves making sure you are constantly being sourced by God and His power...

To fulfill the good He intends you to do.

So if you are feeling burned out and just going through the motions...

Your soul is sending you a message.

It's saying...

Quit trying to pull off life on your own.

And make prayer essential.

So you can constantly experience the love and power of Jesus...

Who raises us up and strengthens us inwardly as our life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45).
