Spectator or participant?
Are you more of a watcher or a
doer?
An observer or engager?
A spectator or participant?
There’s a reason I ask…
A member in one of our MfD groups shared about the number of men in their prime who are essentially dropping out of life.
Even their work life.
They’ve just disengaged, and are done… at least for now.
So what are they doing with their time?
They’re watching.
Watching videos.
Watching the tragicomedy unfolding in American culture and government.
And more or less just watching the world go by.
This is alarming!
It does not bode well for the future.
Nor is it in sync with God’s design for a man.
Indeed, there is a time for watching…
Watching to learn.
Watching and praying.
And watching to rest.
But from the beginning God made us to do stuff.
To be fruitful… multiply… rule… cultivate… protect (Gen. 1:28, 2:15).
So as a friend, I just want to ask…
In a world of watchers…
Are there some areas in your life you need to do less watching and more doing?
Or maybe less doing of some things and more doing of things having greater significance?
Our world needs you engaged and participating.
We are living in an all-hands-on deck situation.
And God has already designed certain good works for you to carry out (Eph. 2:10).
You just need to assess your gifts, experience and opportunities to discover what they are…
Then step out, take action
and see what God does.
This applies no matter what your age or situation!
If you’re breathing, God has something for you to do…
And it will have an impact and change lives.
So how about it?
Where do you need to put off watching and put on doing?
The world is waiting.
The Lord may be waiting too.
