I recently read a comment claiming this generation lacks certain character qualities because it hasn't faced a Great War, like WWI or WWII.
I suppose there is some truth to this.
But it misses something as well...
We're all involved in the Greatest War -- the war between good and evil initiated at the Fall of mankind...
And the battles in this war are especially intense right now too... as society's institutions have turned away from God Almighty, who is righteous and assures victory.
But we are not without hope.
In the end, the battle is the Lord's...
And He who has already crushed the head of the serpent has equipped us to be more than conquerors in Him.
We just have to be faithful to take up the resources He's given us.
"Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places" (Eph.6:10-12).
