It is very easy
for relationships to become transactional.
We are so busy and used to doing things quickly and online, we forget the people we deal with are, um, people... with burdens and dreams like our own.
So, as a result, we risk viewing many of our relationships in terms of the goods or services that can come out of them. And really not much more.
Obviously, this is not a recipe for rich relationships.
And mere transactional relationships do not do much to advance God's kingdom either.
For that we need
something more.
We need transformational relationships.
Transformational relationships see the value of every person God has made.
These relationships take time and cost us something, but are worth the investment.
Not only are they personally enriching, they are what bring positive changes...
For ultimately it's through people that our lives will have the greatest effect.
Jesus, of course, is the master of transformational relationships.
He knew how to see people and enter their lives.
And His whole manner of operating was to lay down His life for others.
Looking from the outside this may not seem very efficient...
And we me not like the sacrifice it requires.
But...
This is the way a life full of love and grace is done.
And remarkably, it's the way to change world for God's kingdom.
So be on the lookout
for ways you can build more transformational relationships.
It's God's way for you to change the world too.
